Box Score The Lake Forest College men's soccer team won 6-0 at Eureka College on Saturday and is now 7-0-0 on the season. Senior Stephen Egan scored two of the Foresters' first three goals in the contest.
Egan's first goal was was scored at 5:26 and was assisted by sophomore Mahir Mameledzija, who leads the team with 14 points. It was the only goal of the first half, despite the Foresters' 14-5 advantage in shots in the period.
Freshman Jonathan Weisbecker earned his first career point when he assisted sophomore Nicholas Kliminski's fourth goal of the season at the 47:24 mark. Egan then took a pass from sophomore Alexi Spiratos at 59:28 and scored his third of the year. Freshman Stefan Zaharinov also recorded his first career point on senior Nelson Dorvlo's second goal of 2011 at 68:43. Senior Selorm Agbodza got in the scoring column with an unassisted goal at 76:26 and sophomore Grady McDonald's tally at 79:33 was assisted by Kliminski and closed out the scoring. It was McDonald's second goal of the year.
Lake Forest freshmen goalkeepers Ian Taylor and James Van Artsdalen combined for the shutout with Taylor making three of their five saves in the first 66:32 of the game and earning his second career victory.
The Foresters have not started a season with seven victories since beginning 1975 with an 11-0-0 record.
Lake Forest will host the University of Dubuque in another non-conference game Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
