The Lake Forest College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with visiting Monmouth College on Saturday and is now 9-0-2 overall and 1-0-1 in Midwest Conference play this season. The Fighting Scots' goal with 72 seconds to play in regulation denied Forester junior goalkeeper Giancarlo Colasanti his third consecutive shutout.

Lake Forest jumped out to the early lead on sophomore Mahir Mameledzija's team-high 10th goal of the season at 18:23.

The Foresters out-shot Monmouth 8-4 in the first half and seemed to have the better of the play intil mid-way through the second period. Monmouth gained momentum, out-shot the home team 7-6 in the second half, and tied the score with 1:12 to play in the period.

The game was called due to darkness after the first 10-minute overtime period.

The game-tying goal ended Colasanti's scoreless streak of nearly 300 minutes. He recorded three saves in the contest and owns a 0.65 goals against average for the season.

The Scots are now 3-4-2 overall with ties in both of their league contests.

Lake Forest will continue conference play Wednesday at Beloit College. The game will begin at 4:30 p.m.
