The Lake Forest College volleyball team finished its 2010 season with a four-set loss to Beloit College on Friday in the semifinals of the Midwest Conference Tournament at Monmouth College. It was the final career match for Forester seniors Mandi Mulliner and Deena Blanchard.
Forester sophomore Cori Cooper led the squad with 10 kills on Friday and she added 19 digs for her team-high 13th double-double of the season. Her 327 kills on the year were also tops on the team. Classmate Megan Trubich had half of the team's four aces on the day and led the squad with 56 this season. Fellow sophomore Tia Rupnik led all players in the match with 21 digs and her 569 on the season were the most for a Forester.
Blanchard led Lake Forest with 29 assists and finished her career ranked fourth in program history with 2,153 assists in the last four years. Mulliner had a match-high seven blocks, raising her career toal to 315, which ranks third in team annals. She is also 10th with 803 career kills.
The Foresters were the #3 seed in the tournament after finishing the regular season with a 6-3 league record. The loss dropped the team's final overall mark to 14-17. Blanchard and Mulliner are Lake Forest's only two seniors.
