The Forester men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at
defending Midwest Conference champion Carroll University Wednesday
night (September 30). Lake Forest is now 4-5-1 overall this season
and 1-2-1 in MWC play. The victory in their first league game of
the year raised the Pioneers' overall record to 6-1-1.
The Foresters had their team record streak of consecutive shutouts
snapped at five when Carroll scored in the 33rd minute. The last
goal surrendered by Lake Forest was scored on September 12 at Ripon
College, a span of 529 minutes and 47 seconds.
The home team tacked on an insurance goal at 64:34 and added
another just 66 seconds later to close out the scoring.
Carroll out-shot the visitors 8-2 in the opening 45 minutes and
11-3 after halftime.
Forester junior goalkeeper Tom Biesiada (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake
Central) recorded a career-high 10 saves in the contest but had his
personal scoreless streak snapped at 534:59.
Lake Forest will continue league play on Saturday (October 3)
against visiting Knox College. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m. and
