The Lake Forest College volleyball team hosted and defeated
Mount Mary College Tuesday night (September 29). The Foresters
raised their record on the season to 3-13 while the Blue Angels
fell to 5-10.
Lake Forest recorded a season-high 18 aces in the match, including
eight by freshman Cori Cooper (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake
Central), a new team record for a four-set match. She served up six
consecutive points, including four aces, for the home team early in
the final set. She also had five kills in that set and a team-high
13 in the contest.
Junior Mandi Mulliner (Elmhurst, Ill./York) also reached double
figures with 11 kills and posted a .400 hitting percentage in the
match. She also added four blocks, nine digs, and a pair of
aces.
Junior setter Deena Blanchard (Sparta, Mich./Sparta) finished with
33 assists and freshman Megan Trubich (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield
Central) led the team with 18 digs.
The Foresters will host another non-conference match against
Elmhurst College Thursday nith (October 1) at 7:00.
