The Forester volleyball team suffered a pair of three-set losses
Saturday (September 19) at North Central College. Lake Forest fell
25-15, 25-22, 25-16 to Benedictine University and 25-2-, 25-17,
25-19 to North Central and is now 1-12 on the season. Benedictine
raised its record to 4-8 and North Central to 12-1.
Freshman Cori Cooper
(Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central) led the Foresters with
eight kills against Benedictine. Classmate Megan
Trubich (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central) had 11 digs,
junior Deena
Blanchard (Sparta, Mich./Sparta) finished with 13 assists, and
junior Mandi
Mulliner (Elmhurst, Ill./York) recorded three blocks.
Cooper pounded out another nine kills against North Central.
Blanchard tallied 25 assists and freshman Molly
McCloskey (Riverside, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) had a dozen
digs.
Lake Forest will start Midwest Conference play next Friday night
(September 25) at Illinois College. The match will begin at 7:00.
The Foresters will also play at league foe Monmouth College the
following afternoon at 1:00.
