Dan Lek

Dan Lek joined the Forester coaching staff in 2022 and is now the associate head coach of the men's and women's tennis programs.

The 2025-26 Foresters made the first NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in program history and were 40th in the season's final Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings. The team finished with an overall record of 16-7 and placed second in the Midwest Conference at 5-1 in league play. Lake Forest defeated Cornell College 4-0 in the semifinals of the MWC Tournament before posting a dramatic 4-3 triumph over Grinnell College in the final.

Forester Felipe Moraes was the MWC Player of the Year and one of four members of the team to be named All-MWC in singles, doubles, or both in 2026. Since Lek joined the staff, Lake Forest players have been named All-MWC 27 times.

The men's team is now 51-33 overall and 20-4 in the league in Lek's four seasons on staff. They also advanced to the championship match of the MWC Tournament in each year.

The Lake Forest women are 60-26 overall and 20-4 in the league over the last four seasons. They were the runners-up in all four MWC Tournaments.

Lek has served as a private tennis instructor in the Lake County area since 2009. His experience coaching includes time as a volunteer assistant for the women's team at Bradley University and as a volunteer assistant at Mundelein High School. 

Lek was the #1 singles player at Mundelein High School. He's also an active USTA league player competing on both a men's and mixed team. Recently those teams earned district and regional titles in 2021 and 2022.

A 2004 graduate of Bradley University, Lek currently manages a reporting and analytics team at Grainger within the Customer Strategy, Sales Operations, and Marketing organization, where he's been for the past 10 years. Prior he led a strategy and analytics team at Starcom MediaVest Group.

He resides in Gurnee with his wife Lorena and their two children Colin and Lana.
