Chris Button joined the Forester coaching staff in 2025. In addition to coaching in the spring, he serves as an assistant sports information director during the fall and winter seasons.
Button came to Lake Forest with five years of experience and a 41-27 record as a collegiate head coach. He led Benedictine University to a Northern Athleics Collegiate Conference championship in 2021, the first year of men's lacrosse in the league, and the Eagles captured NACC Tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2021 and 2022. He was the head coach at Concordia University Chicago in 2024 and Benedictine from 2019-22 after two seasons as the team's offensive coordinator. He also spent seasons as an assistant at Mount Ida College and Regis College in Massachusetts.
In addition to coaching, Button is the director of operations and director fo box lacrosse at the club level for the Lakeshore Lacrosse. He has also served as the boys director for Old Line Elite (Baltimore, Md.), a national team coach, and the regional director for the True Lacrosse Club (Annapolis, Md.).
Button played four years of NCAA Division II lacrosse at LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York. He scored 91 goals in 63 career games and still ranks among the top five in program history with 18 man-up scores. Button graduated from LeMoyne in 2014 with degrees in sociology and education.
