Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame member Pat Ambrose joined the Forester coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2025-26 season.
Ambrose was an extremely successful head coach for 24 years (1999-2023) at Stevenson High School. He never had a losing record, won at least 17 games in 21 of those 24 seasons, and finished with a record of 505-191. He led the Patriots to a state championship in 2015 and they reached the final four of the state tournament three other times and claimed 11 regional and five sectional titles. Four of the players Ambrose coaches have gone on to play professionally, including NBA star Jalen Brunson, and numerous others have competed at the collegiate level, including his sons Evan and Matt.
