Pat Pistorio returned to Lake Forest College in 2021 as the team's passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach and is now in his sixth year with the program overall.
Lake Forest posted an 8-1 record in Midwest Conference play in 2022, claiming a share of the league title and advancing to the NCAA Division III Playoffs for the second year in a row. Quarterback Tre Stewart was a Second Team All-MWC selection after throwing for 13 touchdowns against just three interceptions and adding six more scores on the ground..After two years as the team's quarterback, Stewart ranks third in program history in career completion percentage and quarterback efficiency rating and tied-for-fifth in touchdown passes.
Pistorio was the Foresters' wide receivers coach for three seasons from 2007 through 2009. Lake Forest wideouts earned eight All-Midwest Conference selections, including three First Team All-MWC distinctions, during that span. Dan Carter (2006-09) became the program's career leader in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches with Pistorio as his position coach.
After his first stint at the College, Pistorio served as the offensive coordinator at Harper College for three seasons (2010-12) and the head coach at South Elgin High School for five years (2013-17) and Niles North High School for two (2018-19). He led Sough Elgin to a pair of conference titles and three appearances in the state playoffs.
Pistorio's coaching experience includes eight years (2006-13) as an assistant for the Chicago Slaughter, where he coordinated the offense and directed the team's wide receivers. The 2009 Slaughter posted a 14-0 record and captured the Continental Indoor Football League Championship.
Prior to working at the high school level, Pistorio spent four years as a student assistant at Southern Illinois University.
During his playing days Pistorio captained the football, wrestling, and baseball teams at Larkin High School. He graduated from Southern Illinois in 2002 and added master's degrees from the University of Phoenix in 2005 and Concordia University Chicago in 2013.
Pistorio and his wife Christine have four daughters: Mia, Gianna, Elianna, and Meilani.
