Coming off the Foresters' first draw in 704 days, Lake Forest women's soccer found its way back into the win column with seven first-half goals against Cornell.
Annabelle Schroeder served as the focal point for the Foresters on offense, and Lake Forest found her room early on. Schroeder scored in the 8th minute of the game, and continued contributing after that. Nine minutes later, she assisted
Maggie Balas, pushing the score to 2-0. The junior then assisted
Veronica Presberg in the 24th minute, before Balas found another goal 30 seconds later. Twenty-five minutes into the game, Lake Forest led 4-0.
Balas and Schroeder connected again in the 30th minute, with Schroeder scoring her second goal of the game. Defender
Gianna Logue got involved in the offense, scoring in the 33rd minute off a pass by
Ella Chicone. Then, Logue picked up her first assist of the season in the 44th minute, setting up
Bella Rivera for her first goal since October 19, 2024. At halftime, the Foresters led 7-0 and dominated across the stat sheet, leading in shots 26-3.
The offense picked up right where it left off after halftime, with Schroeder completing her hat-trick in the 52nd minute. The junior's 8-point afternoon set the highest mark for points in a single game for a Midwest Conference player since September 2024. It is also the fifth highest single-game mark this decade.
Lake Forest continued to generate offensive chances in the final 35 minutes of the game, but did not find another goal as the Foresters kicked off Midwest Conference play with an 8-0 victory. Goalkeepers

Maddie Geasey each made one save on the way to a sixth combined clean sheet on the year.
Lake Forest remains on the road with a match against Lawrence on Wednesday. Kickoff in Appleton is set for 6 p.m.
