9/14/2026 3:00:00 PM

Forester football players Dom Esposito and Hudson Schambach were named Midwest Conference Offensive and Special Teams Player of the Week, respectively, after helping lead the team to a convincing 68-12 victory at Knox College on Saturday.

Esposito caught 10 passes, including four for touchdowns, and amassed a program and league record 359 receiving yards in the contest. The senior wideout reached the end zone from 67 yards out twice in the first quarter and from 71 and 60 yards on Lake Forest's first two possessions in the third. He exited the contest at that point with the eighth-highest single-game receiving yardage total in NCAA Division III history. He is also just the third player in team history with at least four touchdown catches in a game.

After two weeks this season Esposito leads the nation with 434 receiving yards and ranks tied-for-second in the country with four touchdown catches and tied-for-20th with 7.5 receptions per game.

Schambach, a junior kicker, made all nine of his extra point opportunities and added a 28-yard field goal on Saturday. In addition, 9 of his 11 kickoffs were touchbacks, one landed at the 2-yardline, and the other reached the 6-yardline despite him kicking off from the Forester 20 due to a penalty.

In just his second season at the College, Schambach already ranks sixth in program history with 10 career field goals and 68 extra points.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Schambach also earned the award once last season.
