Lake Forest College men's golfer Tyler Wengronowitz was named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday for his impressive performance at this past weekend's Illinois Wesleyan Invitational.

Wengronowitz tied for fifth place out of 255 competitors, finishing with an even-par total of 143 through 36 holes.

Wengronowitzopened the tournament on Friday with a strong 1-under 71 in the first round at Ironwood Golf Course. The junior finished the round with three birdies and two bogeys. Saturday, he followed his performance with a 1-over 72 at Weibring Golf Course, adding two more birdies and three bogeys.

Over the weekend, Wengronowitz, recorded 26 pars and five birdies. This performance matched the ninth-best score in program history and he now owns six of the Foresters' top 14 two-round totals.

Lake Forest placed seventh out of 41 teams in the Foresters' first event of the spring semester.

SLIAC Players of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Wengronowitz also earned the honor once in the fall and three times last year.
