Lake Forest College men's golfer
Tyler Wengronowitz was named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday for his performance at last weekend's Twin Cities Classic.
Wengronowitz tied for 13th place out of 85 players at the event with a 54-hole score of 224 (+11). The junior carded a 4-over 74 in Saturday's opening round at Elk River Country Club, a 3-over 73 at Leseuer Country Club in round two on Sunday, and a 4-over 77 at Minnesota Valley Country Club in Monday's third and final round. His nine birdies in the three days combined were tied for the eighth-highest total at the tournament.
The Foresters placed seventh at the event with a final score of 908, the fourth-lowest three-round total in team history.
The event was the team's last of the fall semester and Wengronowitz owns a team-best scoring average of 74.54.
SLIAC Players of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Wengronowitz also earned the honor three times last year.
