The Forester track and field team traveled to Wheaton College on Saturday for the Don Church Twilight Meet.
Highlighting the team's performance at the meet were freshman
Brayden Long and junior
Lettia Hoda, who broke their own school records in the men's 100m nd women's 300m, respectively. Long's time of 10.63 seconds was good for fifth place out of 76 runners in the event and was faster than any time posted by a Midwest Conference athlete going into the weekend. Hoda finished seven-and-a-half laps around the track in 10:31.80, which was 10 seconds better than her previous program record and just .57 seconds faster than the runner-up in the race.
Addition top-six finishes were turned in by senior
Jacquelyn Han in the women's 100m hurdles (4th in 17.06 seconds), junior
Payton Ross in the men's 110m hurdles (5th in 15.85), sophomore
Owen Lashenik in the men's 3000m (5th in 9:28.45), and junior
Ollie Francis in the men's 400m (6th in 51.05).
In addition to Long and Hoda's records, the Foresters made 10 more updates to the program's list of the top five performers in each event.
Lake Forest will drive north next Saturday to compete in the St. Norbert College Invitational. It will be the team's final meet before the 2026 Midwest Conference Championships at Cornell College May 8-9.
