Foresters to Add Five to Athletic Hall of Fame at Homecoming

4/17/2026 12:00:00 PM

Membership in the Forester Athletic Hall of Fame will increase by five when the class of 2026 is inducted during the Athletic Recognition Ceremony on Saturday, October 3. The class will include football player Bill Bremer '79, swimmer Andy Hill '92, softball player Erin Watts '07, and soccer/hockey players Holly Lesperance '16 and Michelle Greenewy '16.

Bremer was a three-time All-Midwest Collegiate Athletic Conference linebacker and among the team leaders in tackles throughout his career. He captained the Foresters as a senior and was selected as the defense's Most Valuable Player after the season. Lake Forest posted a 4-0 record in league play before falling in the MCAC Championship Game that fall.

Hill qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship Meet three times during his career and earned Honorable Mention All-American accolades in the 100-breaststroke twice. He was a four-time conference champion (2 individual events, 2 relays) and set five school and three conference records. In 1989 Hill was also part of the only men's relay team in program history to earn All-American status and he was named the team's MVP that year.

Watts was a three-time all conference outfielder, two-time all-region selection, and the Midwest Conference South Division Position Player of the Year as a sophomore. She graduated as the program's all-time leader in runs batted in and ranked among the top six in career batting average, hits, runs, doubles, triples, home runs, totals bases, slugging percentage, and stolen bases. She helped lead Lake Forest to three conference championships and captained the team her senior season.

As a soccer player, Lesperance was a four-time first team all-conference selection, four-time all-region honoree, and an All-American as a senior. She ranks third in program history with 53 career goals and 15 game-winning scores, fourth with 136 points, and sixth with 30 assists. Lake Forest won three conference championships and twice qualified for the NCAA Tournament during her career. She also had 62 points on 21 goals and 41 assists in hockey and helped the Foresters capture a league title and make a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances.

In soccer, Greeneway was named first team all-conference four times, first team all-region three times, MWC Offensive Player of the Year twice, and All-American once. Her accolades were even greater in hockey, where she was a four-time all-conference selection, two-time Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Year, four-time All-American, and the recipient of the Laura Hurd National Player of the Year award as a senior. With 104 goals and 240 points in soccer and 103 goals and 152 points in hockey, she is easily the most productive player in the history of both programs and the only athlete in NCAA history to score at least 100 times in both sports.

The addition of Bremer, Hill, Watts, Lesperance, and Greeneway will raise the Lake Forest College Athletic Hall of Fame membership to 271 individuals and three teams. Their inductions will take place during a ceremony the morning of Saturday, October 3, and they will also be recognized on the field at halftime of the Forester football team's Homecoming Game against Lawrence University that afternoon.
