The Lake Forest College men's tennis team was defeated 4-3 by the University of Rochester on Sunday in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The Foresters began the match with a sweep in doubles. Sophomore
Felipe Moraes and junior
Rodrigo Cunha tripled up the Yellowjackets' top tandem 6-2, junior
Bernardo Aguiar and senior
George Ciuca prevailed 6-3 at #2, and sophomore Joaoa Espindola teamed up with freshman
Tim Pasea on a 6-4 triumph at #3.
The top three singles matches were next on the courts and, after Rochester earned points at #2 and #3, Moraes finished off a hard-fought 7-5, 4-6, (10-5) victory at #1. The Yellowjackets clinched the match with wins at #4 and #5 but Espindola closed out the contest by coming out on top of a 6-0, 2-6, (10-6) decision at #6.
Both teams are now 4-4 on the season.
The Forester will be in action next on Tuesday when they take on Shenandoah University 1:00 p.m. (ET)
