The Lake Forest College men's lacrosse team was tied with host Elmhurst University late in the third quarter but eventually fell 12-6 Wednesday night.

Aidan Wigton's second goal of the contest to make it a 6-6 game with 75 seconds remaining in the third period but the home team struck 38 seconds later and then tacked on five insurance goals in the final 15 minutes to pull away.

Brendan Herbert scored twice in the first half for the visitors and classmate
Ryan Dousevicz tied the score at four late in the second quarter. Freshman
Milo Closson's man-up goal just 32 seconds into the third gave the Foresters a 5-4 lead they maintained for nearly 10 minutes of game time.
Wigton added an assist in the game and is now tied for the team lead with a dozen points on eight goals and four assists. Herbert raised his career goal total to 112, three shy of the program record.

Jacob Lipson shared Lake Forest's team lead in ground balls with three apiece while junior
Judson Norris and sophomore Rowan Barringer each caued a pair of turnovers.
The teams combined for just 23 turnovers and were 34-of-37 on clears. Elmhurst had a significant 29-17 edge in ground balls and 16-4 advantage on faceoffs.
The loss evened the Foresters' record on the season at 2-2 while Elmhurst, which received votes in this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Top 20 Coaches Poll, improved to 4-0.
Lake Forest will host Illinois Wesleyan University Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
