The Forester women's hockey team was defeated 5-0 by St. Norbert College at home Friday night.
The Green Knights scored twice in the opening period and three time in the second. They were 2-for-4 on the power play while Lake Forest was 0-for-4 in the contest.
The visitors also finished the night with a 44-24 edge in shots on goal.
The highlight of the evening for the Foresters was the annual Ry McCarthy Award presentation, which occurred during the game's first intermission. This year's recipient was junior goaltender
Chelsea Denniss and former winners Jamie Sauer (2010) and Allie Girard (2017) were on hand for the presentation. Denniss was joined and surprised on the ice by her parents during the ceremony.
Lake Forest fell to 11-11-0 overall and 9-6-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play while St. Norbert improved to 11-8-2 overall and 9-4-2 in the league.
The same two teams will face off again in Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon at 2:00. It will be the Foresters' Alumni Day and those on hand will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the program's first season.
