The Lake Forest College women's volleyball team was defeated in three sets by visiting Lawrence University Friday night.
The Vikings took the opening set 25-20. The score was tied at 13 before the visitors took control with a 6-1 run. The Foresters fought off a pair of set points before a kill from Lawrence closed it out.
Set two started with four straight points for the Vikings and Lake Forest was unable to string together more than two straight points to mount a comeback. The final score of the set was 25-13.
The most competitive set was the third, which featured nine lead changes and 15 ties, the last at 16-16. The Foresters trailed by just one at 20-19 before a 5-1 run finished off the set 25-20 and the match 3-0.
L'Rae White shared team-high honors with six kills and a dozen digs on the night.
Simisola Osinaike also finished with six kills and posted a .500 hitting percentage in the contest. Libero

Elise Kelley added 10.
The loss dropped the Foresters' overall record this season to 8-9 and evened their Midwest Conference mark at 1-1. Lawrence improved to 11-6 overall and 3-0 in the league.
Lake Forest's weekend at home will continue with another conference match against Ripon College Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
