Lake Forest College football players
Hudson Schambach and
Dom Esposito were named Midwest Conference Special Teams and Offensive Performer of the Week, respectively, on Monday, after leading the Foresters to a 45-14 victory at Ripon College on Saturday.
Schambach finished off the first drive of the game by splitting the uprights from 49 yards out for the second-longest field goal in school history. The junior was also 6-for-6 on extra points in the contest and, after just 16 games as a Forester, is already the program's career leader in that category with an even 100.
Schambach is 52-for-52 on extra points this fall and his 64 points are 10 more than the total for any other NCAA Division III kicker. He has also averaged 61.4 yards per kickoff with 28 touchbacks.
Esposito caught eight passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns and added an 8-yard run on Saturday. The senior wide receiver reached the end zone on plays of 54, 26, and 35 yards and now leads the country with 837 receiving yards and a dozen touchdown catches on the year.
Esposito's 12 receiving touchdowns also rank tied-for-third in program history and he is just four shy of the single-season school record with at least four games to play.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Monday's selections were the second of 2026 for both players and the third of Schambach's career.
