The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 7-0 at home on Saturday by Trine University, the 14th-ranked team in the nation.

A power play goal for the visitors at the 14:37 mark was the only score of the opening period.

Trine struck four times in the second, including twice while the Foresters were on the power play.

The lead reached six at 4:44 in the third and the Thunder tacked on their second power play goal of the game with 11:23 to play in the contest.

The loss dropped the Foresters' overall record to 4-14-1 and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association mark to 4-8-0. Trine is now 12-5-2 overall and 8-2-2 in the league.
Lake Forest will host the University of Dubuque next weekend with Friday's Senior Night and Parents Night game starting at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday's Alumni Day contest beginning at 4:00 p.m. In addition, the team's 2025-26 Peter Taylor Award winner will be announced during the first intermission on Saturday.
