The Forester women's tennis team hosted and defeated Elmhurst University 7-0 on Saturday in the season opener for both programs.
Freshman
Anya Mookencherry and sophomore Avelynn Wynn did not drop a game at any point in their Lake Forest debuts. The duo posted a 6-0 victory at #2 doubles to start the match before Mookencherry rolled 6-0, 6-0 at #3 singles and Wen prevailed by the same score at #4.
Other scores were nearly as lopsided and included a 6-1 triumph for junior
Sofia Strupovets and sophomore
Lilli Dockal at #1 doubles. Strupovets took both sets 6-0 atop the singles lineup while Dockal won the first 6-2 and the second 6-0 at #2. Junior
Kate Feist matched the singles scores of Mookencherry, Wen, and Strupovets in her match at #5 and the Foresters were awarded victories at #3 doubles and #6 singles because the Bluejays had just five players.
Lake Forest's next match will be against North Central College next Sunday.
