The Forester men's lacrosse team prevailed 14-11 at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Friday.
Junior
Brendan Herbert was responsible for four of Lake Forest's goals, including two in the fourth quarter that helped prevent the home team from mounting a comeback. Her leads the Foresters with a dozen goals and 15 points so far this season.

Jackson Derosia had two goals apiece and Thomas and Dousevicz each added an assist. Freshman
Aidan Wigton scored for the first time in his collegiate career and additional tallies came from freshman

Trip Gaston. Dean and Gaston also set up goals by Herbert and Gaston's assist was the program record-tying 51st of his career.
The Foresters were extremely successful on face-offs with juniors
John O'Reilly and
Gabe Boston combining to win 20 of 26 attempts and recording five ground balls apiece.
Senior
Conor Murphy led all players in the game with six ground balls and four caused turnovers.Â
Lake Forest led 6-2 after the first quarter, 9-3 at halftime, and 10-3 a minute into the third quarter. The Quakers trimmed the seven-goal deficit to three before Herbert's third of the game and the margin was just two when he struck for the fourth time with 6:41 remaining. Each of the home team's final three possessions ended with turnovers and the Foresters held on for the victory.
In addition to their advantage on face-offs, the visitors out-shot Guilford 45-34, had a 43-26 edge in ground balls, and were 3-for-3 on man-up opportunities.
The Foresters improved to 3-4 this spring whioe Guilford fell to 2-6.
Lake Forest will resume Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference play against Edgewood College Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. on Mohr Field.
