The Lake Forest College women's lacrosse team began the 2025 season with a 10-9 loss to Carroll University at home on Saturday.
Both teams struck once in the first four minutes of the contest with the Foresters' tally coming from senior
Jenna Doctor.
The Pioneers, however, scored five more times in the opening quarter and led 6-1 when it was over.
Doctor's second of the day preceded two more from the visitors, making it an 8-2 game with 6:44 to play in the second quarter.
Lake Forest's comeback bid began with junior

Ashley Carr and junior
Daulath Khan late in the second to trim the margin to four at halftime. Sharp finished the game with four assists.
Carroll was the first team to score in the third but goals from senior
Krissy Kuwahara and Doctor late in the quarter pulled the home team to within three at 9-6 going into the fourth.
After the last Pioneer goal of the game to start the final period scoring, Doctor netted her fourth and fifth of the contest and Kuwahara her second to make it a one-goal game with 4:41 to play.
Unfortunately for the Foresters, they were unable to complete the comeback.

Cecilia Adams finished the contest with 13 saves and a program record 10 ground balls while Kahn and freshman
Addison Dale shared the team lead with three caused turnovers. Kuwahawa led Lake Forest with four draw controls and added five ground balls.
The Foresters will look to even their record on the young season at Illinois Wesleyan University next Sunday at 1:00 p.m..
