The Lake Forest College women's hockey team scored the game's first three goals and eventually prevailed 4-2 at Milwaukee School of Engineering Friday night.
The visitors led 3-0 by the middle of the opening period, thanks to goals by junior defenseman
Holly Kiernan, senior defenseman
Abby Meyer, and sophomore forward
Victoria Liu. Kiernan and Liu each have five goals on the season while Meyer raised her total for the year to six.
The Raiders got on the scoreboard with just 34.8 seconds remaining in the first period and neither team added to its total in the second.
The Foresters out-shot the home team 37-17 on the night but saw their lead shrink to a single goal with 15 minutes to play in the contest.
MSOE pulled its goalie with 1:44 remaining and Lake Forest took advantage just 14 seconds later. It was the team-high 10th goal of the season for sophomore forward
Ella Maher and closed out the scoring for the night.

Donna Fowler made 15 saves on the evening to earn the victory.
The Foresters improved to 11-10-3 overall and evened their Northern Collegiate Hockey Association record at 7-7-3. MSOE, Meanwhile, fell to 4-18-2 overall and 3-12-2 in the league.
The same two teams will face off again and close out the regular season in Lake Forest's Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The will be the Foresters' Senior Day game and a victory would clinch home-ice advantage for Lake Forest in the quarterfinals on the NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs.
