The Lake Forest College women's volleyball team hosted and defeated Knox College 25-18, 26-24, 28-26 in its season finale on Saturday.
It was Senior Day and
Ireland Van Stone and
Lilli Evans were honored before the match. Evans matched one career high with six kills and established another with five digs. Van Stone led all players in the contest with 10 kills.
Senior
Lilly Robinson tied for the team lead with nine digs, led the Foresters with 30 assists, and matched her career high and the fifth-highest 3-set total in team history with seven aces.

Three of Robinson's aces and two of Dirksen's kills came during an 8-0 run that put the home team on top 20-12Â in the opening set. Knox closed to within six at 22-16 and the teams traded points for the rest of the set.
Robinson served up three more aces in a 6-0 run to begin set two. Knox, however, battled back and eventually took two-point leads at 17-15, 18-16, and 19-17. Back-to-back kills by Forester junior
Crystyna Yates started a three-point run and the home team did not trail again in the set. The score was tied at 24 before a kill by Robinson and a Prairie Fire attack error finished off the set.
Lake Forest led set three 18-11 before the visitors began to come back. They tied the score at 20 and had two set point opportunities but kills by Dirksen and Van Stone tied the score at 25 and 26. After a setting error by Knox, Van Stone closed out the set, the match, the season, and her collegiate career with a kill.
The Foresters finished the year 5-16 overall and 2-6 in Midwest Conference play while Knox is 2-26 overall and 1-7 in the league.
