After winning the first six games of the season, the Forester women's hockey team was defeated 1-0 at Concordia University Wisconsin Friday night.
The only goal of the game was scored with 6:41 remaining in the opening period.
The Falcons out-shot Lake Forest 42-28 on the night but were unable to add to their lead, thanks to a 41-save performance by junior goaltender
Chelsea Denniss. It was her second-highest single-game save total as a Forester behind the 44 she tallied while posting a shutout at Conordia Wisconsin two seasons ago.
Denniss exited the ice in favor of an extra attacker for the final 23.4 seconds of the contest but the Foresters were unable to get the tying goal.
Lake Forest was 0-for-2 and Concordia Wisconsin 0-for-1 on the power play in the first period and the teams swapped those numbers in the second. There were no penalties called in the third.
Both teams are now 6-1-0 overall this season. The Foresters fell to 4-1-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play while the Falcons remained perfect in the league at 5-0-0.
The teams will face off again Saturday night at 7:00 in Lake Forest's Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
