A goal by junior forward
Ella Maher in overtime gave the Forester women's hockey team a 2-1 triumph at Lawrence University Saturday night.
Maher struck 1:58 into the overtime period and now leads the team with eight points this season. The walk-off goal was assisted by junior defenseman
Kate Brennan.
The game's first two periods were scoreless and it was the home team that struck first at the 6:36 mark of the third. Lake Forest tied the score when junior forward
Victoria Liu, who is tied for the team lead in assists with five, scored her first goal of 2025-26 almost exactly 10 minutes later. Freshman defenseman

Shannon Gibbons were credited with assists on the play.
Lake Forest doubled up Lawrence with 30 shots to the Vikings' 15 on the night.Â

Lily Peterfeso was in goal for the Foresters and made 14 saves while improving to 3-0-0 on the year.
Lake Forest's current six-game winning streak is the longest to open a season in program history. Four of the victories have come in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play and the Foresters trail first-place Adrian College and Concordia University Wisconsin by just one point in the standings.
Lawrence fell to 0-7-0 overall and 0-4-0 in the league.
The Foresters will take on Concordia Unievrsity Wisconsin next weekend and the teams will face off in Mequon, Wisconsin, Friday night at 6:30 and in Lake Forest Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
