The Lake Forest College women's hockey team was defeated 5-0 Saturday afternoon at Adrian College, the fourth-ranked team in the nation.
The Bulldogs scored their first goal with an extra attacker on the ice and the second on a penalty shot. They led 3-0 after the opening period and tacked on two more scores, including a power play goal, in the third.
The home team also had a 50-24 edge in shots on goal in the contest. Lake Forest senior goaltender
Donna Fowler set a new career high and matched the seventh-highest total in team history with 49 saves.
The Foresters fell to 6-8-3 overall and 2-5-3 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play while Adrian improved to 14-2-1 overall and 9-0-1 in the league.
Lake Forest will host Trine University next weekend and face off against the Thunder Friday night at 7:00 and Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
