The Lake Forest College volleyball team was defeated in three sets by Augustana College Saturday afternoon in the final match of the 2024 Forester Invitational.
Sophomore

The Foresters led the opener set 7-6 before five straight points for the Vikings put them ahead for good. Lake Forest closed to within one three times, the last at 15-14, before a seven-point run from the visitors put the score out of reach. They closed out the set 25-16.
The home team rattled off eight straight points to take a 12-6 lead in set two. Augustana, however, came back and took a 16-15 lead before the Foresters rallied to go ahead 20-18. The score was eventually tied at 22 before the Vikings won three of four points and the set.
The third and final set was tied at 11 when Augustana began an 11-2 run that all but clinched the match. The teams basically traded points the rest of the way and the Vikings took the set 25-17.
Lake Forest fell to 1-4 on the season while Augustana improved to 2-3.
The Foresters will host Rockford University Tuesday night at 7:00.
