All four Forester touchdowns came on the ground, beginning with a 9-yard run by senior running back Mal Chunn that finished off the game's opening possession. The fifth play of the 63-yard drive was intended to go up the middle but Chunn broke to his left to avoid the defense and sprinted into the end zone for his first score of the season.

The next score came from fellow senior tailback Jayce Knudsen, who followed his blockers to the right on a 4-yard carry early int he second quarter. The scoring drive was a long one, covering 75 yards in 12 plays and taking nearly seven minutes off the clock.

It remained a 14-0 game until the Rams scored their first touchdown of the day just 77 seconds into the third quarter. The extra point attempt, however, was wide right and the Forester lead was eight points.

Forester graduate student A.J. Jackson, who rushed for five touchdowns in last Saturday's victory over Illinois College, helped the visitors secure this week's triumph with 92 rushing yards, including 77 after halftime, and a two more scores. He reached the end zone on a 1-yard run on Lake Forest's next possession, a 9-play, 61-yard drive that made the score 21-6.

Cornell scored another touchdown early in the fourth quarter but was unsuccessful on a two-point conversion attempt. The Rams continued their comeback bid, scoring again with 2:34 remaining and kicking the extra point to make the score 21-19.

Jackson then took over, carrying the ball twice for 11 yards to force the Rams to use their first two timeouts and all but clinching the victory with a 54-yard touchdown run up the left sideline. Freshman kicker John Shannon, who made his first three extra point attempts of the game, added a fourth to restore his team's nine-point lead.

The Forester defense forced Cornell to turn the ball over on downs in the final minute to finish off the victory. Sophomore linebackers Jackson Sander and Blake Ware led the unit with 12 and 10 tackles, respectively, while junior safety Thomas DeChesaro added eight. Sander also contributed to two of his team's five tackles for loss.

After missing last week's game due to injury, senior quarterback Joshua Gasca completed 15 of 20 passes for 171 yards at Cornell. He has connected on 68.5 percent of his passes so far this season.
