The Forester cross country teams continued taking on this fall's high temperatures at Wheaton College's Gil Dodds Invitational on Saturday. The Lake Forest women placed 13th and the men 14th at the event.
Sophomore
Lettia Hoda led the Forester women and was 41st overall with a 6-kilometer time of 24:37.1. Classmate
Sophie Graham was next on the team at 25:09.8, which was good for 57th place in the 220-runner field.Junior
Megan Dodrill was 125th in 27:00.9 and freshman
Eleanor Clark 156th in 28:26.0.
Lake Forest's top runner on the men's side was freshman
Owen Lashenik, who completed the 8-kilometer course at St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Illinois, in 27:28.1. He was 78th out of 299 competitors while senior
Bart Brophy was next on the team and 161st overall in 29:02.4. With a time of 30:04.1,
Ali Faiz was followed across the line by fellow sophomore
Austin Hewes, who finished 205th in 30:07.9.
DePauw University was atop the women's team standings and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville the men's.
The Foresters' next meet will be Lawrence University's Gene Davis Invitational in three weeks. The event will take place at Reid Golf Course in Appleton, Wisconsin, which will also be the site of the 2024 Midwest Conference Championship Meet on November 2.
