The Lake Forest College women's tennis team hosted and defeated Coe College 5-2 on Friday.
The Foresters took two of the three doubles matches with senior
Margaret Bugnacki and junior Sara Lopex prevailing 8-3 at the top spot in the lineup and freshman
Sofia Strupovets and
Kristen Ahn came out on top 8-5 at #2.
The home team also won in three of the four singles matches that finished before rain-shortened the match. Strupovets rolled 6-1, 6-2 at #1 and Bugnacki posted a 6-3, 6-2 victory at #3. The clinching point came from Lopez at #4, where she took the first set 6-2 and the second 6-3.
The Kohawks won a third set super tiebreaker at #2 and were leading at #5 and #6 when the match ended.
Lake Forest improved to 16-4 while Coe fell to 11-8 this season.
The Foresters will travel to North Park University next Wednesday for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
