The Lake Forest College women's lacrosse team defeated Concordia University Wisconsin 18-6 Wednesday on Farwell Field.
The home team took the early lead just a few seconds into the contest when senior
Ali Graham gained control of the opening draw, raced up the left side of the field, and fired a shot past the Falcon goalie. Graham scored three goals and led the Foresters with three assists, five ground balls, four caused turnovers, and eight draw controls on the day.
Lake Forest junior
Jenna Doctor scored the game's next goal less than a minute later, added one more later in the quarter, rattled off three in a row in the third, and added one in the fourth for a six-goal performance. That total left her just one shy of the program record she set last year and matched earlier this season. Doctor also assisted on a pair of goals for a career-high eight points.
Sophomore
Daulath Khan, freshman
Alyssa Dyson, and senior
Ryleigh Nelson put their names in the scoring column in the first period, which ended with the Foresters ahead 7-0. Freshman
Ella Maher and junior
Abby Meyer joined them in the second and the score was 11-2 at halftime.
Khan netted her second of the game late in the second quarter, Meyer in the third, and Nelson in the fourth. The Foresters' final tally of the game was the first of the season for junior
Savannah Frauhiger.
Lake Forest goalie
Cecilia Adams made four saves and earned the victory. Junior
Calliope Saban replaced her early in the fourth quarter and made two more stops.
Frauhiger added four ground balls and three caused turnovers to her stat line while Dyson chipped in with six draw controls.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Lake Forest, which improved to 5-2 on the year. Concordia Wisconsin fell to 2-4.
The Foresters will travel to Indiana to face Saint Mary's College Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (ET)
