The Forester women's tennis team dropped its first match of the spring semester Friday night, an 8-1 decision against Hope College at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.
The only point for the home team came at #1 singles, where freshman
Sofia Strupovets prevailed 6-2, 6-4.Â
There were a couple of other close calls. Lake Forest freshman
Kate Feist dropped the second set tiebreaker 7-5 after falling 6-4 in the first set at #5. Senior
Margaret Bugnacki went to a tiebreaker in the first set at #3 but was defeated 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.
The loss left Lake Forest with a 9-3 overall record on the season while Hope improved to 5-1.
The Foresters will return to the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff next Saturday to take on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 4:00 p.m.
