13 Foresters with Goal or Assist in Season-Opening Win at Carroll

The Lake Forest College men's lacrosse team began the 2024 season with a convincing 16-5 victory at Carroll University on Saturday.

Thirteen different Foresters had at least one point in the contest, led by sophomore attacker Ryan Dousevicz with five on two goals and three assists.

Sophomore attacker Brendan Herbert and freshman attacker Macklin Thomas recorded hat tricks while freshman attacker Carson Pagel matched Dousevicz's three assists. Junior midfielder Parker Hevers turned in his first career two-goal performance.

In addition to Thomas, sophomore midfielder Dylan Alexander, freshman midfielder Tyler Dearmin, and junior defensive midfielder Dominic Lewis scored for the first time as Foresters and the visitors other tallies came from junior midfielder Trip Gaston, junior attacker John Casey, and junior midfielder Caden Elias. Casey's goal made him the program's all-time leader with 74 in his career.

Graduate student Gordon Kiesgen IV won 15 of 20 faceoffs and junior midfielder Connor Tartaglione led the team with five ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.

Lake Forest jumped out to a 5-0 lead after less than nine minutes of play and was ahead 6-2 at the end of the first quarter. The visitors accounted for all five of the game's goals in the second quarter and continued to add to the lead in the second half.

The Foresters will play their first home game of the season next Saturday against Beloit College. The contest will begin at 1:00 p.m.
