In overtime, the Foresters leaned on their outside shot almost exclusively, with eight of their nine field-goal attempts in the frame coming from behind the arc. Crecelius hit a three to give Lake Forest a one-point lead early in overtime, but the Foresters would go on a three-minute scoring drought before a Ferreira-Torralba triple cut the York lead to 71-70 with 19 seconds remaining.
Â
After York free throws pushed its lead to three, Crecelius had a chance to send the game to double OT, but her game-tying three-point attempt at the buzzer would not go down. Â
Â
The Foresters leaned on their senior leader Christodoulou in the fourth quarter. Lake Forest's leading scorer hit a pair of threes down the stretch to keep the Foresters close; the Cyprus native scored 10 of her 21 points in the fourth quarter.
Â
Christodoulou sunk a pair of free throws and hit a layup to push the Foresters lead to six with under three minutes remaining in regulation. However, the Foresters would be held scoreless in the remainder of regulation, as York closed the fourth quarter on a 6-0 run.
Â
Christodoulou's potential go-ahead jumper with six seconds remaining in regulation was blocked, and Crecelius' three-pointer at the buzzer to win would not go down.
Â
Lake Forest had one of its best shooting games of the season thus far, draining 11 three-pointers as a team, which matched their season high set on Nov. 12 against MSOE.
