The Lake Forest College women's hockey team was defeated 6-0 by Concordia University Wisconsin at home Friday night.
The Falcons started fast with three goals in the game's first six minutes and five in the opening period. The first came just a few seconds after they finished killing the game's first penalty and the second made their first power play opportunity a success. Another power play score was sandwiched by a pair of goals at even strength and the score was 5-0 at the first intermission.
What turned out to be the final goal of the contest came at the 12:38 mark of the second period.
Concordia Wisconsin put 41 shots on goal on the evening while the Foresters had just 25. The visitors also had a 47-33 edge on faceoffs.
The loss dropped Lake Forest's overall record to 2-3-2 and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association mark to 1-2-2. The Falcons improved to 6-2-0 overall and they are still perfect after their first five league games of the season.
The same two teams will face off in game two of teh series tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 in Mequon, Wisconsin.
