The Lake Forest College cross country teams traveled to Reid Golf Course in Appleton, Wisconsin, for the 2024 Midwest Conference Championship Meet on Saturday. The Forester women placed fifth in the standings while the men were eighth.

Sophomore Sophie Graham led the Lake Forest women and earned All-MWC honors for the second year in a row. She placed 18th in the field of 103 runners with a career-best 6-kilometer time of 24:01.1. Fellow sophomore Lettia Hoda was next in 27th place overall and completed the course in 24:32.86. Junior Megan Dodrill finished 45th in a career-best 25:33.48, senior Delfina Jorgensen 69th in 26:47.88, and freshman Eleanor Clark 77th in a season-best 27:46.76.

Lawrence University, the meet's host, was the team champion on the women's side with 34 points, 11 fewer than runner-up Grinnell College. Ripon College was third and Cornell College fourth. The Foresters' 164 points were 29 better than sixth-place Monmouth College.

Ali Faiz was the top runner for the Forester men. The sophomore finished 45th out of 113 competitors, finishing the 8-kilometer course with a personal-best time of 27:40.60. Senior Bart Brophy was next on the squad and 54th overall at 28:12.66 and freshman Owen Lashenik was 61st with a time of 28:26.71. Sophomore Austin Hewes (73rd in 29:05.46) and freshman Demos Manoukis (79th in 29:42.89) rounded out the team's top five.

The Cornell College men won with 43 points while Lawrence was second with 55. Lake Forest edged out Beloit College for eight place by five points.

Both Forester teams finished in the same place in 2023.

Select Lake Forest runners will close out the season at the NCAA Division III Regional Meet on Saturday, November 16. The competition will be hosted by Augustana College at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois.
