The Forester football team climbed into the 23rd spot in the American Football Coaches Association Top-25 Poll on Monday after completing a perfect 10-0 regular season with a 28-9 victory at the University of Chicago on Saturday..
Lake Forest is one of just 11 teams in the nation without a loss this season and earned a bye in this weekend's opening round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs. The Foresters will take on the winner of the first-round match-up between Coe College and host Bethel University in round two on November 30.
The Foresters rank 23rd in the nation with 42 points per game and 26th in the country in scoring defense, allowing just 14.4 points per contest. They are also listed among the top 40 in 18 other statistical categories.
In addition to moving up in the AFCA national ranking, Lake Forest remains listed among the others receiving votes in the D3football.com Top 25 and the team moved up three spots this week to eighth in the NCAA Power Index.
