The Lake Forest College women's basketball team was defeated 55-50 by Milwaukee School of Engineering Tuesday night in its first home game of the season.
The game featured 12 lead changes, including 11 in the second half. The Foresters led 26-24 at halftime and 42-40 after the lead changed hands eight times in the third quarter.Â

Rebecca Christodoulou made it a 35-30 game with 1:27 to play but the Foresters were unable to score again.

Mia deGrasse combined to shoot 6-for-7 on three-pointers and established new career highs with nine points apiece. Punches pulled down a team-high nine rebounds but the Raiders had a slight 41-39 edge on the boards. The visitors also won the turnover battle, committing just 16 to Lake Forest's 23.
The Foresters' 11 three-pointers in the contest were the team's highest total since they connected a dozen times in the penultimate game of the 2019-20 season. They reached that total in just 26 attempts for a .423 shooting percentage from long range.
Both teams entered the game at 0-1 on the young season.
Lake Forest will travel to Trine University for weekend's Cameron Hospital Classic and will take on the hosts Friday at 7:45 p.m. (ET). Albion College will be the Foresters' opponent on Saturday with tip-off scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (ET).
