After being listed among the others receiving votes for nearly two months, the Lake Forest College football team climbed into the 25th spot in the American Football Coaches Association Top-25 Poll on Monday.

At 9-0 overall and 8-0 in Midwest Conference play, the Foresters are one of just 12 teams in the nation without a loss this season. They scored a pair of touchdowns in the final 70 seconds of Saturday's 35-28 victory over Monmouth College that clinched the 2024 MWC title, Lake Forest's third in the last four seasons.

The Foresters rank 22nd in the nation with 43.6 points per game and 32nd in the country in scoring defense, allowing just 15.0 points per contest. They are also listed among the top 40 in 16 other statistical categories.

In addition to the AFCA national ranking, Lake Forest is listed among the others receiving votes in the D3football.com Top 25 and the team moved up eight spots this week to 11th in the NCAA Power Index.

The Foresters will close out the regular season at the University of Chicago Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Along with the MWC title comes the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Playoffs, which will begin on Saturday, November 23. The bracket for the national tournament will be released on NCAA.com Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
