The Lake Forest College women's soccer team hosted and defeated the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh 3-0 on Wednesday.
Junior forward
Anna Gracia contributed to all three of the Foresters' goals beginning with earning an assist on the official game-winner from junior midfielder
Anna Hoffman less than four minutes into the contest. It was the team-high 14th score of the season for Hoffman, who is now tied for 10th in program history with 30 goals in her career.
Gracia doubled the home team's lead just three-and-a-half minutes later, receiving long pass from senior
Krissy Kuwahara near the top of the penalty area and chipping her shot over the Titan goalie and into the net.
Lake Forest out-shot the visitors 6-1 in the first 45 minutes of play and still led 2-0 at halftime.
The Foresters also doubled up Oshkosh 4-2 in shots in the second half and tacked on another score seven minutes into the period. A cross from the left side of the field went all the way through the box to junior midfielder
Izzy DeStefano, who lofted a pass in front of the goal where Gracia was positioned to head it in. It was the ninth score of the year for Gracia, tying her with DeStefano for second on the team.
The shutout victory was the eighth in the last 10 games and 10th this season for Lake Forest. Junior
Joanna Aslanides was in goal for the entire contest and is now responsible for four of the year's shutouts. She lowered her goals against average this fall to 0.49.
The Foresters improved to 12-2-3 while Oshkosh fell to 3-12-2.
Lake Forest will close out the regular season against Cornell College at home on Farwell Field Saturday afternoon at 1:30. A victory in that game would give the Foresters at least a share of the 2024 Midwest Conference title and the right to host the following weekend's MWC Tournament.
