The Lake Forest College cross country team traveled to Appleton, Wisconsin, on Saturday for Lawrence University's Gene Davis Invitational. The Forester women placed sixth at the meet and the men 11th.

Sophomore Lettia Hoda led the Lake Forest women and placed 25th out of 133 competitors overall in the first race of the day. She covered six kilometers at Reid Golf Course in 24:22.4 and was just four places and 13 seconds ahead of classmate Sophie Graham. The times were season-bests for Hoda and Graham, as was junior Megan Dodrill's clocking of 26:15.8 and freshman Stella Abernathy's 28:02.8. Junior Delfina Jorgensen (26:58.1) also finished in the Foresters' top five.

Sophomore Ali Faiz was Lake Forest's top runner on the men's side for the first time and his 8-kilometer time of 27:50.6 was good for 79th in the 185-runner field. It was also his best as a Forester by more than two minutes. Senior Bart Brophy crossed the line just three places later in 27:57.4 while freshman Owen Lashenik posted a time of 28:37.9.
