The Forester women's hockey team had its nine-game winning streak come to an end Wednesday night on an 8-0 loss at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
The Blugolds, ranked 10th in the nation in this week's USCHO.com Poll, started the scoring Wednesday night with a pair of power play goals and were ahead 3-0 after 20 minutes of play. They added four tallies in the span of three-and-a-half minutes in the second and tacked on one more in the third.
The home team had a 38-12 advantage in shots on goal in the contest.
The non-conference loss dropped the Foresters' overall record on the season to 9-5-0 while Eau Claire improved to 10-3-0.
Lake Forest will continue its road trip with games at the College of Saint Benedict each of the next two days. The teams are set to face off Thursday night at 7:00 and again Friday at 4:00 p.m.
