The Lake Forest College women's hockey team was defeated 5-0 by Adrian College at home on Friday.

The Bulldogs, who entered the weekend ranked fourth in the nation by USCHO.com, took advantage of their first power play opportunity of the game to take the lead at the 13:46 mark of the opening period. They added two more tallies in the period and led 3-0 after 20 minutes of play.

The visitors tacked on one more goal in the second stanza and finished 2-for-4 on the power play after taking advantage of another Forester in the penalty box in the third.

Adrian out-shot Lake Forest 45-21 on the night.

The Foresters are now 11-8-0 overall and 8-3-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play this season. Adrian, meanwhile, improved to 15-2-0 with victories in each of the team's nine league games.

The same two teams will complete their weekend series in Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and will face off again in non-conference play next Sunday.
