In the first of two games the team will play up in Minnesota, Lake Forest College women's soccer dominated Crown College 6-0 on Friday night.
In under 10 minutes of play, the score was already 3-0 in favor of Lake Forest. All six of the Forester goals were scored within the first 30 minutes of the game. Two of the game's goals were scored by sophomore
Izzy DeStefano.
DeStefano's first goal, and what would be the game-winning goal, was set up when sophomore
Anna Gracia took possession of the ball from her Crown counterpart and made a long pass to senior
Ella Manthey towards the middle of the field. Manthey was covered, but she was able pass to DeStefano, who connected with the net. DeStefano's second goal came just 11 minutes later; Manthey assisted on this goal as well.
DeStefano also added an assist to her stat sheet when she put the ball in front of sophomore
Anna Hoffman for the Foresters' second goal of the game early in the ninth minute of the game, and Hoffman assisted on Gracia's goal just a minute and a half later.
Juniors
Rosalie Wisniewski andÂ
Theresa Presberg had the final two goals of the game to put the exclamation point a decisive win for the Foresters.
Lake Forest had 15 shots during the game while Crown recorded just nine.
The Foresters play again on Saturday against Bethel University at 1:00 p.m.
