Alex Bendler was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Tuesday after helping lead the Foresters to a 24-0 shutout at Wisconsin Lutheran College Saturday night.
Bendler made four tackles in the game, including a sack and two other stops behind the line of scrimmage. The graduate student also forced a fumble, broke up a pass, and added a pair of quarterback hurries.
The shutout was the 191st in the history of Forester football and the team's fifth in its last 20 games. The Warriors managed just 160 total yards in the contest.
Bendler now ranks fourth in school history with 42.5 tackles for loss and 23.5 sacks.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Bendler also earned the award in the final week of the 2022 regular season.
