Despite an early goal by junior
Rosalie Wisniewski, the Lake Forest women's soccer team was unable to secure a win in the home and season opener against Concordia University Wisconsin on Saturday.
The first Forester goal of the season started with sophomore
Caitlin Mulcahy bringing the ball most of the way down the field, just to the right of the goal, and making the pass to fellow sophomore
Izzy DeStefano. DeStefano, in front of the net, hit a quick, short pass to Wisniewski, who kicked it high into the back of the net.
The Falcons answered with their own goal early in the second half of play, and the score remained tied as time ran out.
Lake Forest recorded 17 shots in the game with 6 of them being on goal. Wisniewski lead the team with three shots, and Mulcahy and senior Ella Manthy also tallied three shots.
The Foresters play again on Sunday when they will face Carroll University. The game begins at 5 p.m.
